My name is Will Smith and I currently work at Catlin, Inc., a specialty insurance company, in Hartford, CT. My official job title with Catlin is “Senior Systems Engineer” and I have been in the IT industry for just about 16 years now.
My career started as a PC technician working for a small town company in Port Saint Lucie, FL. I spent the first few years honing my skills in hardware troubleshooting and then moved on to spending many late nights studying for my Microsoft Systems Engineer certification. After my certification, I spent about 6 years providing consulting services for companies in South Florida from Miami, north to Vero Beach.
I held a Senior Server Engineer position with TBC Corporation, the parent company of 9 automotive service and sales companies around the country, including Tire Kingdom, Big O Tires and National Tire and Battery, to name a few.
My current job with Catlin enables me to maintain my skill set by working with security and engineering scenarios and technologies in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. I’m also able to find some spare time here and there doing what I love which is WordPress administration and implementation.
I’m married to my wife of 7 years, Anne Marie and we have two children, Alex, my son, age 4 and Sara, my daughter, age 2.
